Toronto 2016 - UK Films in selection

All the UK films and co-productions at TIFF this year

With over 30 films in selection at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, 2016 is set to be a fantastic year for the UK.

There are four UK films and co-productions in the Gala line-up this year; ‘The Rolling Stones Olé Olé Olé: A Trip Across Latin America’ (Paul Dugdale), ‘The Journey is the Destination’ (Bronwen Hughes), ‘A United Kingdom’ (Amma Asante) and ‘Their Finest’ (Lone Scherfig) starring Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin and veteran actor Bill Nighy. Nighy also features in 'The Limehouse Golem'  (main picture) in Special Presentations where we also look forward to Tom Ford’s latest venture ‘Nocturnal Animals’ and Noel Clarke’s long awaited ‘Brotherhood’, the final instalment in his trilogy.

Director Ben Wheatley returns to the festival to open Midnight Madness with his action-packed film ‘Free Fire’, featuring an international cast including Oscar winner Brie Larson. William Oldroyd’s film ‘Lady Macbeth’ starring Florence Pugh in the lead role is a strong contender for the Platform section.

See below for a listing of British and UK Co-produced films in selection. More titles to be announced soon.
