BBC Films

BBC Film is the feature filmmaking arm of the BBC. It supports invigorating and imaginative filmmaking and has backed three films selected for Cannes this year: Ruben Östlund‘s TRIANGLE OF SADNESS in Competition in the Official Selection; Saela Davis & Anna Rose Holmer’s GOD’S CREATURES in Directors’ Fortnight; and Charlotte Wells’ AFTERSUN in Competition in Critics’ Week.

BBC Film is firmly established at the forefront of British independent film and has an ambitious slate featuring some of the most exciting filmmakers working today. It backs around 12-15 feature film productions per year, many of which are debuts, plus a number of short films. The team works closely with filmmakers throughout the creative process, offering rigorous opportunity to new filmmakers and a protected, collaborative space for established voices.

Submissions to BBC Film must come via an agent or producer.
